Audi has always been the underdog when it came to comparing their models to standard setters made by BMW and Mercedes-Benz. But over the last decade or so, the Ingolstadt brand has been making a huge statement for themselves. It’s one that tells the world that they’re not to be taken lightly and that other automakers should beware, Audi is here to play the game.
The Q7 is available with three different engine choices, two supercharged, direct-injection 3.0-liter gasoline engines, one with 272-hp, the other, on the S line trim, with 333-hp. A 225-hp 3.0-liter V6 direct injection diesel (TDI) is also available, and they are all mated to a Tiptronic eight-speed automatic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive. Standard features include leather upholstery, heated seats, automatic dual-zone climate control, 6-disc audio system and 18-inch wheels, power liftgate, auto-dimming mirrors, Bluetooth, bi-xenon headlights. The TDI adds 19-inch wheels and chrome exterior trim. The S line adds even more standard luxuries such as Bose audio, three-panel sunroof, sunshades, side assist, advanced key and 20-inch wheels.
Initially, not all of Audi’s entrances to the luxury segment have been hits and the Audi Q7 full-size crossover SUV is one of them. This is mainly due to the Q7s limited utility ability from its streamlined shape, despite being a sports utility vehicle. Additionally, some call the Audi’s aesthetics controversial, which is something I beg to differ. Either way, to show that Audi is keeping up with the times of weary fuel economy figures, they introduced a new diesel V6 for the US-spec Q7 and they gave us one to see what we think.
The Audi Q7 has established itself in the luxury SUV class with bold styling, numerous tech features and five-star safety ratings.
Check out this interior image from Audi.de of the interior of the Q7 V12 TDI. While kit like carbon fiber trim and double stitched leather are optional kit for Audi’s biggest and baddest version of the Q7, the new 3-spoke steering wheel as seen in the latest A6, A7 and A8 is a little something for everyone… or at least those driving Q7s my2012 or newer.
The Q7 was Audi's first foray into the luxury crossover segment, but since its debut the automaker has added the Q5, a smaller and less expensive crossover. The Q7 seats up to seven people in three rows of seats and can be equipped with a gas or diesel V-6. The Q7 competes with the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GL-Class and Acura MDX.

The Toyota FT-86 gets all the attention, but the reality is that this new rear-wheel-drive sports car is a joint venture between Toyota and Subaru, in the interests of cutting costs. This is the first time that the Subaru version is getting the spotlight, to be shown at upcoming auto shows.

The 2013 Subaru BRZ, seen here in “Concept STI” form, is nearly identical to the FT-86, except for some minor styling differences and that big rear wing. One would’ve expected the “STI” version at least to have a turbocharged 300 hp engine and all-wheel-drive, but the mechanicals are identical to the FT-86, with a 200 hp 2.0-litre engine, good for an “estimated” 230 Nm of torque, sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual or automatic. Their target weight is under 1200 kg for a 0-100 kph time of under 6.5 seconds, which remains to be seen.

Expect the Toyota version to come to the UAE, and the Subaru version, not so much.
The BRZ was unveiled in concept form earlier this year at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show. A so-called “technology concept” will be shown in September at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, with the full production version of the car slated to appear in December at the 2011 Tokyo Auto Show. The 2012 Subaru Tribeca SUV will probably remain simply an extremely mild upgrade to its predecessor 2011, especially as there’s been no manifestation of engine with something similar to an overall total redesign from the vehicle. Subaru has invented a word to describe the XV concept debuting at the Shanghai auto show: “protren,” a combination of “professional tool” and “trendy design.” Such clunky wordsmithing was unnecessary, though, since this is simply a tarted-up version of the next Impreza hatchback. subaru impreza 2012 is known for its no-nonsense, durable, all-wheel drive Forester and Outback crossover utility vehicles. What U.S. buyers don't seem to ...
With the Outback growing up to become more of a crossover and less of a wagon, the 2012 Subaru Impreza is angling to fill its bigger sibling's shoes with a roomier and more fuel-efficient small vehicle to compete in the growing compact car segment.
Bigger than the subcompacts millennials may have bought during or just out of school, and more refined than their parents' hand-me-downs, Subaru wants the Impreza to be a car buyers' first real car.

And what constitutes a "real car?" Something that's nice enough to impress a boss or date, but still functional enough to cater to the transient and active lifestyle that is much of a person's 20s. A vehicle that offers hints of the bells and whistles seen in upmarket luxury cars, but steeped in enough utility to take a solid beating from weekend warriors.

Basically, it's as close to a midsize vehicle as you can get without coming standard equipped with car seats and conversation mirrors. Available as a four-door sedan or a five-door hatchback, the Impreza is like the buyers it targets: semi-grown-up. To make a point at a press event, Subaru demonstrated that it could pack a ~200 sq. ft. studio apartment full of Ikea furniture into a five-door model, complete with faux art wall hangings, iPod docking station, and requisite fuzzy slippers.
To make the compact car seem bigger, Subaru increased the vehicle's wheelbase by an inch while shortening the body overhang to retain the same footprint as the previous model. The sedan is still 180.3 inches and the five-door model is still 173.8 inches, but the subtle changes opened up 2.3 cubic feet of interior space in the sedan, and 2.9 in the five-door.

The extended wheelbase coupled with scallop-backed front seats added almost 2 inches of legroom in the second row. And now there's also a bit more cargo capacity in the sedan and hatchback.

To put it in perspective, an extra cubic foot of cargo capacity in the sedan means the trunk can now hold four sets of golf clubs, compared to three in the old model. And at 22.5 cu. ft., the cargo space of the five-door model is 3.5 cu. ft. larger than the previous model year, which means that with the rear seats folded flat, the 2012 Impreza can hold a mountain bike with the front wheel still attached.
That leap in fuel efficiency is due in no small part to the new, 2-liter boxer-style engine, which provides a 10 percent fuel economy gain compared to the outgoing 2.5-liter engine. As with any give, there will be a little take: you have only 148 horsepower to play with in the 2012 Impreza, compared to 170 hp found in the previous model year.

The engine can be paired with either the standard five-speed manual or the new CVT option. New electric power steering also contributes to a 2 percent efficiency gain.
Even when not using the paddle shifters to manually choose the six virtual gear points, the revolutions rise and fall, rather that delivering a boring, continuous wind up to cruising speed. Paired with the 148-hp 2-liter engine, the car won't knock your socks off, but it is still fun. The CVT also enables a new hill assist feature.

Subaru improved the Impreza's double-wishbone rear suspension with stronger components for better stability, handling, and comfort. The Premium model also adds a rear-suspension stabilizer bar for better driving performance. And unlike most compact competitors, all-wheel drive is standard on all models. But that's an advantage that's definitely felt in the starting price of $17,495.
No one has ever accused Subaru of being luxurious, and as a first grown-up car, the Impreza doesn't try to break that barrier. But the auto manufacturer is catching on to the sporty refinement that buyers are attracted to and expect, even in the compact car segment.

To give the Impreza an upmarket feel, Subaru replaced much of the hard plastic interior with soft touch points on the dashboard, door trim, and center console armrest. That, coupled with better audio options, shows that Subaru is racing to catch up to competitors that started paying closer attention to infotainment a lot earlier.

The Impreza is available in base, Premium, Sport Premium, Limited, and Sport Limited trims. With the 2.0i base model, you basically get a car with an AM/FM radio. In fact, the only option in the base model is the CVT. The Premium trim upgrades the wheels from 15-inch steelies to 16-inch alloys, and adds an audio system with a CD player, six speakers, USB port for iPod integration, auxiliary input for MP3 players, Bluetooth connectivity, and audio streaming, along with a few interior and exterior changes.

The Limited comes with the CVT, 17-inch wheels, fog lights, and the cold weather package, to name a few advantages. It also adds a 4.3-inch audio display with enhanced graphics for HD radio and iPod integration. With an iPod connected, you'll also be able to tag songs that you can purchase on iTunes the next time you sync your mobile device.

On both the Premium and Limited models, you can spring for the optional 6.1-inch touch-screen display with navigation system. The navigation system has easy-to-read graphics with a fairly intuitive interface, and the upgraded head unit adds available XM Satellite Radio and XM NavTraffic, and is equipped with about 50 voice control commands to facilitate some amount of hands-free infotainment control.
Driving the 2012 Subaru Impreza reminds us why Fuji Heavy Industries didn't put us in charge of this important redesign. We would have shrunk this car back it to its 2002-2006 proportions, discontinued the sedan, ordered up a turbocharger even for the sub-WRX models, and blown the rest of the budget trying to make the Impreza handle like a streetable rally car. Exactly 10 of you would purchase our "new" Subaru Impreza and all of Subaru's sales gains in the United States, its biggest market, would be reversed in short order.
Instead, the 2012 Impreza is the most spacious and refined compact car Subaru has ever sold in the U.S. It's also the most fuel-efficient Subie — with EPA ratings as high as 27 city and 36 highway mpg — to arrive on our shores since the three-cylinder Justy. And even though it's less powerful than the car it replaces, the 2012 Subaru Impreza is a bit quicker, thanks to a significant weight loss and a new continuously variable transmission.
With an all-new skin complemented by a new 2.0-liter flat four, the 2012 Subaru Impreza turns in an impressive performance among similarly sized and priced compacts.

Borrowing styling cues from the larger Legacy, the new Impreza has crisp character lines and pronounced wheel arches that contribute to a beefy stance. Compared to earlier generations, the car has shed its cute quirkiness in favor of a more conventional three-box sedan and 5-door hatch silhouette.

The task of producing the Jaguar XJ220 was assigned to the real racing specialist TWR. When the final details were validated resource persons, had proposed the 6.2-liter V12 was replaced by a less attractive 3.5-liter twin turbo V6, and the car came as a rear wheel drive. In the first episode of the new series of Fifth Gear, TV presenter and racecar driver Tiff Needell puts the new 2012 Jaguar XKR-S against a legendary cat, the Jaguar XJ220. Back in 1992 when it was first launched, the Jaguar XJ220 was one of the fastest supercars of the moment. Its 500 hp, 6.2-liter V12 engine and $580,000 USD price tag made it one of the most exclusive cars on the market. The 2012 Jaguar XKR-S is powered by a supercharged V8 engine, which outputs 550PS and 680Nm of torque. With 50 hp more, the Jaguar XKR-S may be the winner of this race, but the all-wheel-drive system of the XJ220 might have the last word.
The noise comes as a surprise. The standard Jaguar XKR is a smooth character – not hushed, exactly, but always refined. The new Jaguar XKR-S is a coughing, cackling, fuel-snorting loon, emitting a metal-edged bellow at any opportunity and mooching around with all the subtlety of a trigger-happy chainsaw operator in a public library. Also See 2012 Audi A4 Review.

It’s a mighty clear indication what the XKR-S – essentially a turn-all-the-knobs-up-to-11 iteration of the XKR – is about. Despite packing 542bhp and a top speed of 184mph it isn’t, as the marketing types claim, the fastest and most powerful Jaguar ever: 1991′s XJ220 boasted the same power output and could manage 217mph flat out.
Thanks to an engine remap and exhaust tweak, power is up by 32bhp over the XKR. The fixed carbon rear wing and vertical vents either side of the Jag’s gaping mouth don’t do much for the coupe’s svelte lines, but they help reduce high speed lift by 26 per cent. Jaguar XKR-S  has tougher front suspension, 26 per cent sharper springs and lightweight 20-inch alloys all add up to a 4.2-second 0-62mph time and a sub-eight minute Nordschliefe lap.

You might worry that this puts the XKR-S in a tricky place. The XKR has always steered clear of the track-focused fistfight, instead carving out a niche as a super-fast grand tourer. Might the bulked-up Jag have forgotten its USP? Also See 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

Not to worry. The XKR-S retains Jaguar’s trademark delicacy of ride: firm but never harsh, planted but pliable. Yes, it’s noticeably stiffer than the XKR, but never brittle. No company in the world does damping better than Jaguar… and no company makes a better supercharged engine. As the 5.0-litre V8 winds up past 4500rpm, the speed piles on so quickly that things start to get a bit blurry, the supercharger’s scream accompanying a worrying tendency of the distant horizon to attack the windscreen at pace. Also See BMW M5 Dark Edition Review.
he Jaguar XJ220 is a mid-engined sports car produced by Jaguar in collaboration with Tom Walkinshaw Racing as Jaguar Sport between 1992 and 1994. It held the record for the highest top speed of a production car (350 km/h, 217 mph) until the arrival of the McLaren F1 in 1994.
n the early days of the company, certain Jaguar employees had created an informal group they called “The Saturday Club” (so-named because they would meet after-hours and on weekends to work on unofficial pet-projects). In the 1980s, Jaguar’s chief-engineer Jim Randle, as part of that group, began work on what he saw as competition for cars like the Ferrari F40 and Porsche 959. He envisioned what was essentially an updated XJ13 – a lightweight two-seater with a powerful mid-mounted V12 engine. Randle expanded on the idea by settling on all wheel drive for increased traction and better handling and an integral safety-cage so the car could be safely raced at extremely high speeds. From the outset, the intention was to create a vehicle capable of exceeding 320 km/h (200 mph)
Our amazing scoop pictures show how the Audi range is set to develop – and here’s its crowning glory. These images show one designer’s take on how a new R10 – a V10-engined flagship supercar – could look.

But this isn’t just a flight of fantasy. According to Auto Express sources, Audi is seriously considering a new supercar to sit above the acclaimed R8. It’s set to share the chassis of the forthcoming Lamborghini Murciélago replacement.

As well as a sculpted body, the car would get a mid-engined layout and a low-slung, two-seat cabin. Audi’s famous aluminium spaceframe chassis technology will be combined with carbon fibre to keep weight down and provide supreme strength.

The R10 will also be wider and longer than the R8, while four-wheel drive ensures it’s firmly planted on the road. Power is expected to come from a turbocharged 5.0-litre V10 with up to 600bhp – that would give 0-60mph in just over three seconds.

Preliminary prototypes, disguised as Lamborghinis, have been spied near the Nürburgring in Germany, although the car is unlikely to arrive before 2012. For more details click here.

jaguar c-x16 2012 Ahead of its Sept. 13 debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Jaguar has released images and details on its latest concept, the 2012 Jaguar C-X16. ...
Here it was, the evening before the Frankfurt Auto Show’s first press day, with Jaguar having a special showing of its C-X16 One Plus One sports car concept at Frankfurt’s recently reconstructed Palais Thurn und Taxis. Amid much son et lumière befitting this palatial setting, Adrian Hallmark, global brand director, and Ian Callum, design director, introduced the C-X16 to an appreciative crowd and described its evident Jaguar DNA, stunning styling and neat technicalities.
Was this Palais Thurn und Taxis setting destined for the announcement we’re waiting for? Was the 2012 C-X16 Concept going to transform itself into the 2012 C-X16 production version
Alas, no. The nearest Adrian Hallmark came was referring to the C-X16 as “a true sports car at the heart of our range.” He even tantalized us with a price, but note the finessing of words: “If produced,” Hallmark said, the C-X16 would go for 60,000-80,000 euros. Figure $80K to $110K (assuming the euro doesn’t tank completely before the car officially enters production).
To summarize what we already know about this exciting car, the C-X16 is supposed to make the sports car relevant in the 21st century. Jaguar says its name, “One Plus One,” designates seating—indeed the car is a 2-place coupe giving the driver special precedence. However, I still like to think One Plus One describes its propulsion system.
The all-aluminum 3.0-liter V-6 is direct-injected, with a compression ratio of 10.5:1, Roots-supercharged and intercooled to the tune of 375 bhp and 332 lb.-ft. of torque. This V-6 is conceptually evolved from Jaguar’s AJ-V8 powerplant, both with dual overhead camshafts actuating 4 valves per cylinder. On an environmental note, the C-X16’s cylinder heads are fabricated from recycled aluminum (this being one of the elements more amenable to recycling).
The C-X16’s electric motor adds as much as 94 hp and 173 lb.-ft. to the gasoline engine’s output, available to the driver through a “Push to Pass” feature of a steering wheel button. Although not cited in the Frankfurt conference, earlier the system was said to allow pure electric mode at speeds up to 50 mph with light pedal use.
Its 8-speed gearbox also integrates an Intelligent Start/Stop system akin to the one recently launched on Jaguar’s XF sedan. IS/S can shut the engine down within 0.3 seconds after the car comes to rest. A twin solenoid starter spins the engine back into operation in the time it takes the driver’s foot to travel from brake to accelerator.
Electrical energy for these hybrid operations comes from a 1.6-kWh lithium-ion battery pack residing behind the seats. The battery pack receives most of its juice from a rear-axle electrohydraulic brake regeneration system. A Hybrid Vehicle Supervisory Controller oversees all these interactions.
Ian Callum was also enthusiastic at the Palais Thurn und Taxis, though equally non-committal on production plans. The C-X16 is “the center of our brand,” Callum said, and I heartedly agree. Other words used to describe the car include “sensuous” and “sustainable.” The former is clear from its stunning contours, already described by Callum as defined by three “heartlines,” its front fender creases, sweeping roofline and rear haunches that wrap into the tail. To my eye, these possess a more pleasing unity than exhibited by several contemporary trendy designs that come to mind.
The interior of the C-X16, done up in Vermillion Red with black trim, emphasizes its One Plus One concept with dual regions for passenger and driver. The latter gets the better one, with controls and instrumentation suggesting both aeronautical ergonomics as well as classic Jaguar racing cars. Aspects of the interior convey what Jaguar calls a “secret until required” theme. Double vents for the climate control, for instance, deploy into sight only when needed; otherwise, the top of the dashboard remains as unadorned as possible.
Sensuous, yes, but I think of sustainability as even more crucial in defining this core of the Jaguar brand for our century. Its hybrid drive in no way compromises performance; indeed, that steering-wheel-button-actuated boost actually outdoes a Formula 1 car’s 7 seconds of KERS kick. Cited at Frankfurt was a 10-second hybrid enhancement, no doubt incorporated in an implied 0-60-mph dash in around 4 sec. and certainly useful in the company’s claim of scooting from 80 to 120 km/h (that’s 50 to 75 mph for us Anglophiles) in about 2 sec.
There’s nothing amiss with son et lumière at the Palais Thurn und Taxis (which, by the way, has nothing to do with cars having little lights on their roofs; it was commissioned by Prince Reichserbgeneralpostmeisters Anselm Franz von Thurn und Taxis back in the 1730s). Such events are all in good fun. But I await the word that Jaguar’s sensuous and sustainable C-X16 has entered production.
If you're wondering about the future of the XK, this isn't it. No, what Jaguar is set to reveal at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week is far more ambitious. This is Jag's Porsche Cayman-fighting two-seater – a Jaguar coupe you can actually afford.

Powered by a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 putting out 376 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, the C-X16 concept takes Jaguar's great heritage of supercharging into the next century with the addition of a "Push to Pass" hybrid system controlled through a steering wheel-mounted button.

An electric motor is integrated into the eight-speed gearbox, delivering an additional 92 hp and 173 lb-ft of twist when the button is pressed. The resulting performance numbers – 0-60 in 4.3 seconds and a 186 mph top speed – are almost as impressive as the 165 g/km C02 emissions and the C-X16's ability to travel up to 50 mph on electric power alone.

Juice is provided by a 1.6kWh battery pack mounted behind the rear seats, helping to contribute to the 50:50 front-to-rear weight distribution. And if you're wondering, we understand the engine compartment could fit a V8, assuming Jaguar wants to move it up the price scale.

As for the styling, it's as good as anything from Ian Callum, Jag's Director of Design, but we'd be remiss not to say that it looks a little dated. Gorgeous, no doubt, but in the same way the XK is a stunner, but fails to quicken our pulse when we see one on the road. Judge for yourself in the gallery and check out the video and press blast after the jump.
Ahead of its Sept. 13 debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Jaguar has released images and details on its latest concept, the 2012 Jaguar C-X16. Unlike the hyper-exotic C-X75, which Jaguar apparently will build, the C-X16 two-door coupe looks like a more practical offering that could help bolster the British company’s image as a sports — rather than luxury touring — carmaker.

For just being a concept, the C-X16 looks surprisingly ready for dealerships. Up front, the coupe implements a vertical headlight design, rather than the horizontal lamps on the XF, XJ and XK. Dual front air inlets, a wide grille and a pronounced front spoiler give the car a sportier look compared with Jaguar’s current lineup. While the front is more angular and aggressive, the C-X16’s rear is curvaceous, featuring large rear fenders and a rounded rearview window that follows the form of the swept rear-roofline. Overall, there’s a lot of attention to detail here.

While the exterior is dramatic, Jaguar has stuck to a conventional setup within the cabin; it reminds us of the Audi R8’s layout. The three large knobs on the center console feature small high-definition displays that can be reconfigured depending on what you’re controlling. For example, the knobs could be used to both control the heated/cooled seats and the cabin climate.

Powering the coupe is a 375-horsepower 3.0-liter twin-scroll V-6 producing 332 pounds-feet of torque. On top of the gasoline engine, there’s an experimental hybrid component — co-developed with the British government — that provides short bursts of extra power for passing. When the “Push-to-Pass” button is pressed on the steering wheel, the electric motor can kick in, providing extra power to go from 50 mph to 75 mph in 2.1 seconds. Overall, the 94-hp electric motor and the V-6 can accelerate the C-X16 from zero to 62 mph in 4.4 seconds, with a top speed of 186 mph. That powertrain is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

At 175 inches in length and 3,527 pounds, the C-X16 is noticeably shorter and lighter than the 2012 Jaguar XK. The XK can technically fit four people, though backseat legroom is nearly nonexistent. There’s also no V-8 mentioned for the C-X16, which leads us to believe that the C-X16 will augment, rather than replace, the XK, if the concept were produced. It would likely compete with the likes of the Porsche Cayman, Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class and BMW Z4, though the C-X16 would still be significantly larger and heavier than those models.

Jaguar is set to expand its lineup. Tata Motors Chairman Ratan Tata (owner of Jaguar and Land Rover since 2008) says he’s considering widening Jaguar’s lineup by adding an all-new entry-level sedan, a new roadster and a station wagon.

Judging by how ready the C-X16 looks for production, we’re keeping our hopes high that something like this is headed our way.
Jaguar's C-X75 concept, as wild as it is, is still headed for (very limited) production.

The latest concept, due for a complete unveiling at the Frankfurt Auto Show, is the C-X16 Production Concept, shown here in the first official images, and it looks much more like something that will see high-volume production.

That, of course, is because it will. Dropping the ubiquitous eight-cylinder engines in the current range of sports/GT cars, the C-X16 instead employs a supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 plus an "experimental" performance hybrid system like that found on the Limo-Green research car. That doesn't mean it's short on power though: it packs 375 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. According to Jaguar, that's good for 4.4 seconds to 62 mph and 186 mph top speed. Fifty to 75 mph takes just 2.1 seconds--meaning strong passing.

A ZF eight-speed automatic transmission shifts the gears, start-stop enhances fuel economy, OLED displays on the switchgear give the car a high-tech feel, and the interior is clearly aimed at balancing sport with luxury, with features like an "intelligent" automatic climate control system, composite seats with a carbon fiber spine, and red leather upholstery.

The coolest feature, however, may be the somewhat F1-like "push to pass" button the steering wheel that controls the "hybrid boost function," delivering more power when the driver wants it.

dodge nitro 2012 to be a completely new car yourself, but beyond that there is disconcerting regarding the vehicle. Some analysts wonder.

The next Maserati Quattroporte will reportedly use V6 and V8 engines with a ZF eight-speed automatic and four wheel drive, and stop/start technology to increase gas mileage; it will be made in Italy. The V8 will not be a Hemi, but the V6 is expected to be a twin-turbo version of the Pentastar V6. A “baby” Quattroporte is assumed to be based on the Chrysler large-car platform and be built in the Bertone plant.

New source “autojunkie” wrote that start/stop technology would be implemented on Challenger, Charger, and 300 with Hemi, V6, and diesel engines in model-year 2013. The Charger V6 and 300 will be first to get the eight-speed, followed by the Challenger SE.

Imperial was set for 2015 when last seen but might have been dropped in favor of the Alfa.

The other is the Dodge Dakota replacement, possible 2013 Ram Dakota, lighter than the current model, but still capable -- the so-called "lifestyle Dakota." In 2007, when we first broke the story on this new truck, we quoted a Dodge rep saying that it would still be capable, just not as capable. A Canadian newspaper said it would be based on the minivan platform with another report saying that the truck will be built at Windsor, the minivan plant. However, Sergio Marchionne later told Ward’s Auto World that the truck would only be built in Windsor if it was compatible with the next-generation minivan platform. Projected sales appear to be around 30,000 units.

The upcoming one-metric-ton Dodge truck for Europe is also out there. Bob Sheaves pointed out that European standards are different for trucks, and that a one-ton truck in the E.U. would be rated lower in the U.S. This could be the new Dakota, an offshoot of the Ram, or possibly even the Ram 50 replacement.

There is a possibility the Iveco Daily platform will be translated as a Jeep and made available as both Scrambler/Rescue/etc and Grand Wagoneer, replacing the Iveco Massif. This seems increasingly unlikely
The 2011 Dodge Nitro promotes a big, beefy image and it tends to handle like its image would suggest. While there are a few finer points to the Nitro, most consumers are not thrilled with some of the features and tend to move onto other SUVs with better fuel efficiency and better handling.

The 2011 Dodge Nitro offers some upgrades from previous models. The tinting on the glass is deep and effective, and the seating is now constructed of a heavier material. Racing stripes have been added, which is an interesting feature considering the lack of power and acceleration that is offered from either engine option. The “Heat” package provides the consumer with a 4.0 liter engine, a better sound system, and Bluetooth.

As a compact crossover the 2011 Dodge Nitro is considered more of an on road vehicle. For those that are looking for cargo space without the outdoor adventures (and live in a snow free area) the Nitro might be a good bet. Based on the same construction model and platform as the Jeep Liberty, the Dodge Nitro is underpowered for real off road performance and handling.

The base model offers 20 inch wheels that are chrome plated, tinted windows, keyless entry, reclining rear seats with a 60/40 split, heated mirrors, tilt steering, power accessories, satellite radio, and air conditioning. The CD player comes with an auxiliary jack input slot which is played on a six speaker sound system. If you’re interested in cruise control you have to add it as an accessory, and it comes in a package that includes a compass as well as an outdoor temperature reading.

The base 2011 Dodge Nitro also comes with a 3.7 liter V-6 engine. With the 210 horsepower and the 237 pounds of torque, many critics call it under nourished. The standard option for transmission is a four speed automatic. Fuel efficiency is limited at 16 miles per gallon in the city and 22 highway miles per gallon for the rear wheel drive version, which is also standard. For a vehicle of this size, the ratio is not considered to be adequate. The 0 to 60 miles per hour tests showed that it took a full 9.5 seconds for acceleration. A four wheel drive model is optional on all three versions of the Nitro.

The stability control also comes with an integrated trailer stability system that helps to minimize the natural sway that often happens when towing a trailer. Antilock disc brakes and side curtain airbags make up the list of standard safety features for the base model. If you upgrade, you’ll find rear parking sensors are part of the standard safety equipment list.

While the 2011 Dodge Nitro has not been put through the rigorous testing for the new safety standards, it received a reasonable standard of performance for head on collisions while also receiving a “marginal” notation for side impact crashes. There is only one performance standard below the marginal standard.

With the rear seats in place the cargo space is approximately 32 cubic feet. Once you fold down the rear seats, that space nearly doubles to 65 cubic feet of cargo space.

With a quiet ride and a comfortable ride, the 2011 Dodge Nitro falls short when it comes to acceleration, safety, and lacks good handling. Overall, there seems to be some concerns that the average consumer would like Dodge to address.

jaguar xf 2012

jaguar xf 2012 A saloon with the soul of a Jaguar sports car, the XF has won accolades and enthusiastic fans across the globe for its dynamic abilities and dramatic looks.

Jaguar brought out the XF back in 2008 as a replacement model for the old S-Type in 2008. Three years later and it’s time for the luxury sedan to get a little refreshing in the form of a facelift. The revised XF made its debut today at the New York Auto Show and will be followed by diesel and station wagon versions at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

The facelift XF will come with revised front and rear end styling inspired by the XJ sedan. It will also get new engines, including a diesel. The new Ford/PSA-developed 2,200 cc engine is the same one that will be used for the Range Rover Evoque and will deliver a total of 187 HP. The engine will come with a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox that will send the power to the rear wheels. And since it is equipped with start-stop technology, the new engine will emit less than 130 g/km of CO2.

UPDATE 05/04/2011: We have added two new videos of the 2012 XF for your utter enjoyment. The first video stars Ian Callum as he talks about the 2012 model year design and the second video showcases both the XF and XF-R models by showing us every angle of the two cars up close.
The exterior of the 2012 XF features a revised grille, hood, and front fenders, which incorporates new triangular side vents. The supercharged version gets louvers featuring the "supercharged" script, while the headlamps now incorporate bi-function HID xenon technology. The LED daytime running lights are arranged in a distinctive Jaguar ‘J-Blade’ signature.

At the rear, the XF also gets redesigned tail lamps that extend onto the central portion of the trunk lid and a redesigned trunk lid trim with a gloss black lower edge for a cleaner appearance. For 2012, Jaguar will offer the XF in three new exterior colors with a new set of alloy wheels size 18" to 20".

"The XF has rightly been recognized as a quintessential Jaguar sedan. It is purposeful yet elegant, with inherent sporting intent in its design. For the latest version we have been able to evolve and enhance that performance character." - Ian Callum, Design Director, Jaguar Cars.

The XF’s interior design has always be favorite of ours since we first tested the vehicle, but for 2012, the interior has been further improved with high-end materials and new technologies. The front and rear seats have been redesigned to incorporate a ‘hoop’ design element on the seat and backrest that improves their appearance and support. The company is now offering a new color combination and a revised color scheme on the center console, dashboard, and steering wheel where buttons and switchgear have a more luxurious soft feel black paint finish. The ‘Tungsten’ finish is replaced by a more contemporary ‘Aurora’ theme.

The list of technologies includes a seven-inch Touch-screen with a new polarizing filter for improved contrast, addition buttons, and a revised graphics palette.
Jaguar will be offering a number of engine options for the new XF, including a choice of three diesel powertrains and two petrol versions. For the diesel, you can opt for a 2.2-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 187 horsepower and 332 lb/ft of torque with a 0-62 mph time of 8.5 seconds and a top speed of 142 mph. More powerful than that is the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged engine with 237 horsepower and 368 lb/ft of torque, good enough for a 0-62 mph time of 7.1 seconds and a top speed of 149 mph. Then there’s the 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbocharged engine that produces 275 horsepower and 442 lb/ft of torque, which translates to a 0-62 mph time of 6.4 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph.

As for the two petrol engines, you have a choice between a 5.0-liter V8 and a 5.0-liter turbocharged V8. The former comes with 385 horsepower and 380 lb/ft of torque with a 0-62 mph time of 5.7 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph whereas the latter hits 510 horsepower and 461 lb/ft of torque with a 0-62 mph time of just 4.9 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.
The Jaguar XF can easily do battle with models like the BMW 5-Series and the Audi A6. The BMW 5-Series has recently been revised in all aspects and, on the US market, is offered in either 535i or 550i. The 535i is by a powered BMW TwinPower Turbo using High Precision Injection and VALVETRONIC variable valve timing that cranks out 306 HP, while the 550i is powered by a 407 HP eight cylinder engine. The Audi A6 gets a 3.0 TFSI engine with 300 HP and 440 Nm of torque. However, when it comes to the design, the XF seems to be the most elegant vehicle of the bunch
If there were any scowls or frowns upon the introduction of the Jaguar XF in 2007, they stemmed from disappointment with the car's front fascia. The company's then-new mid-range luxury sedan had been previewed by the erotogenic C-XF concept, but just a little of the prototype's appeal was lost in translation to production. For 2012, Jaguar has righted that ship, nipping and tucking the face of the XF and bringing it more in line with both the concept we saw a few years ago and the recently introduced X
Inside, the XF gets new front and rear seats, new color options, and new choices in veneers. Various controls receive a new black finish, the info screen in the gauge cluster is now rendered in full color, and there are more redundant controls below the slow-acting seven-inch infotainment screen. Hallelujah. Three new stereos join the party, including a 1200-watt, 17-speaker Bowers & Wilkins unit.
The most noticeable change for the 2012 XF lineup, though, is to the headlights, which are much more like those on the new XJ. The lights are flatter than they were before, and no longer have a lumpy semicircle protrusion at the top. They've been reshaped at the corners, as well—note the integrated strips of LED lighting—meaning that the fender and front clip had to be considerably reworked to accommodate the new units, and the former gets reshaped fender vents. The XF's grille is now more upright than it is on pre-face-lift cars, the lower front air intake has been gently tweaked, and, out back, the taillights are now full LED pieces. (In XFR-land, the high-po model's revisions aim to set it further apart from workaday examples.) The result is a more cohesive look, one that sends an even more aggressive, sporty message.

Powering the XF Portfolio and XF trim levels of 2012 Jaguar XF is a V8 5.0 liter engine, which is good for cranking out 380 pound feet of torque and 385 horsepower. The engine is paired with six-speed automatic transmission with two-wheel drive system and goes from zero to sixty mph in the time range of 5.7 seconds with fuel economy of 23mpg highway, 16mpg city and 19mpg in combined driving. The XF Supercharged is powered by a more supercharged version of 5.0 liter V8 that generates 424 pound feet of torque and 470 horsepower. This particular engine accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.9 seconds with fuel economy of 15 mpg city, 21 mpg highway and 17 mpg in combined driving.2012 Jaguar XF – A Quintessential Jaguar Sedan
