The 2012 Dodge Caliber gets a revised model lineup and other trim and powertrain changes. This compact hatchback comes in base SE, volume SXT, and top-line SXT Plus trim levels. Previous Express, Mainstreet, Uptown, Heat, and Rush versions have been discontinued. All Calibers have front-wheel drive and a 158-horsepower 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. The available 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine has been discontinued. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard SE and SXT Plus. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) that behaves much like an automatic is standard on the SXT and optional on the SXT Plus. Safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain-side airbags, and front-side airbags. A cooled glovebox and power windows/locks/mirrors are standard on all. A fold-flat front-passenger seat is standard on the SXT and SXT Plus. Heated front seats are optional on the SXT and SXT Plus. The SXT
Plus has a sport suspension and specific trim.
