lamborghini murcielago  2011 each decade lamborghini presents a completely new supercar that aims at the leadership of its class. at the beginning ...

In the 70s it was the Miura to excite the imagination of every teenager in the world, followed in the 80s by the Countach, and in the next decade by the famous Diablo. Nowadays, since Lambo is being owned by Audi, they have presented us the Murciélago, offered with AWD in standard, but as ruthless as all of its ancestors.

For 2011 Lamborghini are preparing a come-back, with a new supercar. The name of the future car is hard to be predicted, as by tradition, each new Lambo gets to be named after a famous fighting bull. Murciélago, as an example comes from a bull that survived 245 sword strokes in an 1879 fight at the arena of Cordoba, and fought with such passion and spirit that the matador chose to spare its life, a rare honor. In another Lamborghini tie-in, the bull was later presented as a gift to Don Antonio Miura, a noted breeder, and went on to sire a line of famous fighting bulls.
We can easily preview in the new car, the Traditional LP (Longitudinale Posteriore, Italian for “rear longitudinally-mounted) V12 engine, with a displacement increased probably to 7.0 liters. Power is expected to increase accordingly, and offer up to 700 bhp, for the “base version”. Transmission is expected to be AWD, as in the recent Audi developed Lamborghinis.
This performance coupe is capable of hitting 62 mph in an impressive 3.7 seconds. The sprint to twice that velocity – 124 mph – takes just 11.8 seconds.

The 560 portion of the car's name reflects its horsepower, while the "4" designation indicates all-wheel-drive.

The latest engine not only gained power and displacement, it also features a new "Iniezione Diretta Stratificata" direct injection system. Despite its clearly increased output, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions have been reduced by a staggering 18 percent. With the improved fuel efficiency the LP 560-4 is capable of 12/20 city/highway mpg.

The enlarged and clearly redesigned cooling intakes meet the demands of augmented engine. The front spoiler, positioned low between the air intakes, improves aerodynamic equilibrium at high speeds.

The redesigned four-wheel-drive system, an improved suspension design, and optimized aerodynamics all contribute an improved driving experience. A weight reduction of 44 lbs and decreased friction between the components also enhance performance.

The Gallardo LP 560-4 fulfills the not yet obligatory European pedestrian safety regulations, without compromising the look of the car.

The automated e-gear transmission has been completely redesigned for the LP 560-4. Gear change time reduced by 40 percent, and the driver may choose between five different driving and changing programs. The most performance-oriented "CORSA" setting not only affects shift speed -- it also directs the engine for maximum acceleration. The 'Thrust Mode' ensures maximum acceleration from neutral while the angle of the throttle valve and the clutch are optimized.

An optional carbon-ceramic-disc braking system makes use of eight-piston Brembo calipers up front, and four-piston calipers at he rear. Rotor size is 14.4 inches at the front and 14 inches at the rear.

Bi-Xenon headlights provide plenty of illumination at night, while LED daytime running lights give the car a more aggressive and high-tech look.
Lamborghini offers some of the most exotic sports cars in the world, and with the latest Gallardo LP 560-4 coupe, that is no exception. This new entry level Lamborghini coupe delivers 560 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 398 ft-lbs of torque at 6,500 rpm via a 5.2-liter V10 engine, making sure to deliver on the so-called Lamborghini experience in full.
The 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo ranks 1 out of 8 Exotic Sports Cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of 32 published reviews and test drives of the Lamborghini Gallardo, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

The 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo has one-of-a-kind exterior styling, insane performance and a fantastic interior. These characteristics combine to make one of the fastest, sexiest exotic sports cars on the market.

The automotive industry thinks the 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo is an amazing exotic sports car. It’s powerful, and the Supperleggera model, which is 154 pounds lighter than base model, is extra fun to drive. It has some of the best handling capabilities in its class, and reviewers say standard all-wheel drive keeps the Gallardo glued to the pavement. To top it off, the Gallardo has an eye-catching exterior.

Without a doubt, the Lamborghini Gallardo is a great specimen, but it’s not suited for daily driving. For one thing, its unique body structure makes visibility poor, and compared to other models in the class, the Gallardo doesn’t have a lot of standard tech features. You’ll have to turn to the Aston Martin DB9 for standard Bluetooth, navigation and iPod integration.

But, if you’re looking for a superfast Gallardo and are more than willing to sacrifice a few amenities, go for the LP 570-4 Superaleggera. It’s lighter – Lamborghini even dropped its leather seats and replaced them with synthetic material to shed some weight – and faster than the base model. Fox News writes, "In fact, in many ways the Superleggera is the ultimate factory tuner car, and a god among the mod squad."
Other Sports Cars to Consider

When it comes down to it, the 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo trades comfort for performance, so if you’re in the market for a grand tourer, start with the Aston Martin DB9. It has one of the most luxurious interiors on the market and comes standard with satellite radio, navigation, Bluetooth and rear parking sensors – features you have to pay extra for on the Gallardo.

However, if performance is the name of your game, shoot for the Ferrari California. It has a 4.8-liter V8 engine, which is smaller than the Gallardo’s V10, but reviewers like the California’s performance just as much. The California costs nearly $200,000, and the Gallardo tops $200,000, so if those figures are out of your range, try the Audi R8. The R8 starts at about $114,000, but that doesn’t mean it can’t hang with the rest of the pack. Reviewers think its V8 and V10 engines are smooth and powerful.
Details: 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo

The 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo is available in coupe and convertible body styles. It’s also available in several models: the LP 560-4, the LP 560-4 Spyder, the LP 570-4 Superaleggera, the 550-2 Valentino Balboni, the 570-4 Spyder Performante and the Bicolore. This year, automotive journalists spend a lot of time discussing the Superleggera, which is 154 pounds lighter than the LP 560-4 to enhance performance.
